I just found out that someone I know had a congenital bicuspid aortic valve and is recovering from a heart valve replacement. He’s around my age, and a really good guy, although a bit intimidating sometimes because he’s always got it together. So it’s kind of unexpected to think about him in the OR.
Anyway, I hope he has a fast and full recovery, and that he can start showing all of us up again.
My thoughts are also with the other people I know who are dealing with serious medical issues right now.

Way to support your friend!
I had heart valve replacement due to a bicuspid aortic valve. The recovery was miserable.
I’m doing much better now. It’s two years later.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend.
Cheers,
Adam
