Ladies: now you can pee standing up!

January 6, 2008

I was browsing Gristmill when I saw this ad for the pStyle, a urine channeling device for women.

In the words of their web site:

You keep your outfit on which means you don’t expose yourself to other people or the elements. No need to grapple with something that is hard to remove such as a ski suit, backpack, or caving suit. If you have trouble sitting or squatting or don’t want to for any reason - you don’t have to. It is faster, easier, and safer to pee whenever you need to!

The testimonials are also worth a look. Women sneaking in to use men’s room urinals, dropped jaws from friends and family, and gushing praise (pun intended).

You can also order a pCase to carry it in. What won’t they think of?

You know, pretty soon they’ll be wanting to vote.

It’s raining, men (and women)

January 5, 2008

It’s a running joke that any time there’s even a drizzle in Southern California, people freak out. Well, it’s doing a lot more than drizzling right now, so get ready for the live continuous team coverage. The wind and the pouring rain sound really scary, actually.

In other news:

I overslept this morning and missed a meeting with the professor whose lab I’m working in. The meeting was kind of urgent, because another group doing the same experiment may get the scoop on us if we don’t write this up. And now my prof is only free to meet a week from Monday. D’oh.

In my defense, he didn’t confirm a meeting time with me until 9 LAST NIGHT. And I didn’t check my email after about 8, when I went to hang out with a friend — also why I slept in. We watched a Canadian movie from 1993 called Zero Patience, a musical about Patient Zero of the AIDS epidemic. The movie was glorious. A nude bathouse dance number, stuffed and mounted animals coming to life, singing anuses, plenty of 80’s-music-video moments — I couldn’t have asked for more.

Then we watched the Top Model marathon.

Anyway, I planned to get a bunch of stuff done today, but I also brought my Game Boy Advance from home and have been playing Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap nonstop for the past 6 hours.

Maybe this weekend.
